Privacy Policy

Local Theory · Last updated: August 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Local Theory — operated by Unrivaled Marketing Solutions LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) — collects when you use localtheorymusic.com and the Studio (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep this short and plain on purpose.

What we collect

We collect only what the Service needs to work:

  • Your email address. The Studio signs you in with a one-time code sent to your email. We use your email to send that code and, if you ask us to, occasional updates about the project. We do not sell it.
  • Your votes and activity in the Studio. When you vote on a take, we record your choice so the results are accurate and so you are not counted twice.
  • Basic technical information. Like most websites, our servers automatically log standard information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. This helps us keep the Service running and secure.
  • Privacy-respecting analytics. If we use analytics, we use tools designed to measure overall traffic without building advertising profiles of you or tracking you across other websites.

We do not knowingly collect payment information (participation in the Studio is currently free), and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use it

We use the information above to: sign you in, run and tally the version votes, keep the Service secure and working, respond to you when you contact us, and — only if you opt in — send you news about the project. That’s it.

Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in during your session. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers for marketing.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we rely on to operate the Service — for example, our email-delivery provider (to send your sign-in code) and our hosting and database providers (to run the site). These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of the Service.

How long we keep it

We keep your email and voting records for as long as your access is active and as needed to operate the Service. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then discarded. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are required to keep it by law.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • Ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Opt out of project emails at any time — every optional email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us.
  • Stop using the Service at any time.

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or California’s privacy laws), you may have additional rights, including the right to access, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To exercise any of these, contact us at the address below and we will respond within the time the law requires.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
