An Introduction to God
Closes February 8
This record is called An Introduction to God. Thirty songs that ask you to do one hard thing at the door: check your beliefs there, and meet Him by the name He gave — not the god you were handed, not the one Babylon built out of a book, but the one who says I Am Yahowah, and writes it on the heart, and cuts it in stone.
Each song was recorded several ways — same words every time, different takes. It's a big record, so some songs carry more takes than others; every one of them is a real reading, none is a throwaway. We didn't cut them to a shortlist first, because deciding which take carries a song like this takes a person, listening.
That's the ask. Sit with each take, all the way through if you can, and tell us which one holds. Not the grandest one. The one that sounds like it's true.
The takes aren't labeled, and they come up in a different order for everyone. That's deliberate — we don't want our thumb on the scale, and we don't want yours moved by a letter or a filename.
All thirty are open now. When they close, the record is finished: the takes chosen here are the ones that ship.
It's a long record. Start anywhere.
